Y2 Great Fire of London
Year 2 had an incredible time at our Great Fire of London workshop. The children became fully immersed in the life of Londoners in 1666, learning a range of trades from candle makers to surgeons. The children discovered how people cleverly buried precious possessions that they could not carry with them and explored some of these objects by excavating them from the ruins. They also found out how the fire spread throughout the city and learnt about the methods used to tackle the fire with houses being pulled down and even blown up with gunpowder. It was a brilliant day and we were very grateful for all our volunteers who helped make the day possible.
