Introducing the Parents Association
The Merryhills Primary Parents Association raises funds for our school, we run events big and small, including the Summer and Winter Festivals to sponsored activities like our ever popular Bounceathon, after school sales with treats to eat or pre-loved uniform to buy, Circus shows plus much much more.
The Merryhills Primary School Parents Association is a registered charity, raising funds that support the school, to enhance the educational experience of the children of Merryhills. Every parent is automatically a member of the Parents Association.
There are currently three parents who are part of the committee who lead and organise the fundraising calendar:

But we need your help!
It can’t be done without the generosity and support of our whole school community. There are plenty of ways you can get involved to suit your talents and the amount of time you have.

- Run an event
Ever thought of an event you’d love to see at Merryhills? Or would you like to take an event off our hands? What about gathering some like-minded class friends and hosting an event yourselves? It could be a comedy night, quiz night or even a simple doughnut sale. Of course, we will help where needed.

- Marketing and Design
Whether you have an eye for design or would like to learn we need support with Designing posters and content using Canva, a free online design tool, writing and designing a newsletter to update on PA events and activities, website design. This can be done from home and in evenings so no need to have time available during the day.
- Donate some time - every now and then
Yes, we always ask for a donation of some kind; a cake, a bottle of something; a cuddly toy; BUT can you donate your TIME?
We need to increase the number of parents in our Helpers Group. This is a group of parents who are our biggest asset! The help they provide includes: ad-hoc tasks that can be done in your spare time or many other tasks that can be completed in the comfort of your own home. These one off tasks can be self-selected and individuals can chose which ones they'd like to help with depending on their skills and availability at that time.

If you have fundraising ideas and you want to be more involved, then join the team!
The PA committee is only three people and we need more parents to join us in planning, scoping and developing the events we run to meet our fundraising goals. We would love to have as many parents as possible join us.
We currently have vacancies for a secretary and other committee members.
