FOOTBALL
Tyrone Baker in Rowan class plays for Tottenham Hotspurs Football Academy under 9’s Youth Squad. He took part in the Rapid Vienna Football Tournament from 14 – 16 May 2010. In his own words Tyrone tells us about his experience…
‘I was picked to take part in the under 9’s football team to travel to Vienna, Austria. Sixteen teams took part in this tournament including AC Milan and SK Rapid Wien. Overall Tottenham Hotspurs came third place and did very well.
At the end of day 2 of the tournament the academy coaches told the squad that they were going to give an award to the player who was the most impressive, who showed good skills, pace and strength and who had a good attitude during the tournament. I was really shocked when they awarded Tyrone Baker as Player of the Tournament!!. I enjoyed the whole experience and was very proud’.
Merryhills school are also veryproud of Tyrone and we wish him every success with
Tottenham Hotspurs FC.
Tyrone with his well deserved trophy!!
SWIMMING
