Role Profile

Merryhills Primary School is a successful three form entry school. We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our welcoming and dedicated team of staff.

Duties include being front of house and first point of contact to all visitors and families both in person and by telephone, answering the phone with a professional manner, being polite and understanding at all times. To work alongside the office team offering administrative and clerical support and providing support for general office duties. You would need to be highly efficient and organised and work well under pressure. Being confident using the computer and knowledge and understanding of computer packages is essential. Knowledge of school office administration would be desirable.

The ideal candidate will have:-

  • A calm, friendly, professional and approachable manner
  • The ability to develop good relationships and work in a small, flexible team
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, flexibility and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills

Role Profile

Are you around at lunchtimes every day?

Looking for part-time work?

We require enthusiastic people to join our successful school team as Lunchtime Supervisors/Children’s Activity Leaders. You will need to help support and play alongside children aged 4-11 and enjoy the company of children, have lots of common sense as well as a clear DBS which we will process for you. Duties will include:

  • Working as a team member to ensure the safe and enjoyable lunch break of children.
  • Supervising children while they are eating their meals.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour in accordance with the School’s Behaviour Policy.
  • Organising appropriate equipment and activities for the children.
  • Supporting and encouraging all pupils to participate in lunchtime activities.

 

It is desirable that applicants have previous experience of working with young children, but this is not essential. A first aid certificate would be desirable.
